Carbon County Commissioners

The Carbon County Commissioners acted on the following items during their weekly meeting last week.

• Approved a full-service maintenance agreement with Print O Stat Inc. of York for a HP DesignJet Z9+ in the GIS/Mapping Department at a total cost of $736.03.

• Approved two agreements with Johnson Controls Fire Protection of Allentown. The first was for electronic door locks and Lynx panic alarm system software for Carbon County buildings at a cost of $4,980 for the year 2025. The second agreement is for Lynx/C-CURE 9000 server that is used for the electronic locks and panic alarms at a cost of $6,885.

• Approved a proposal with Housing and Redevelopment Insurance Exchange for workers’ compensation insurance for 2025 in the amount of $416,156, an increase of $7,089.

• Approved an annual maintenance agreement with Johnson Controls for the CCTV security camera system in the sheriff’s office at a total cost of $9,452.

• Ratified two resolutions recognizing Mark Nalesnik and Jack Soberick for being the 2024 Black Diamond Award recipients.

• Opened bids for three whole home repair program home projects. Bids were then tabled until the Jan. 23 commissioners’ meeting.

• Prison board appointment: Steve E. Carter, corrections officer, effective Dec. 30.

• Hires: Angela R. DeJesus of Lansford, county caseworker II, Children and Youth Services, effective Jan. 13, 2025; Peter Nyamari of Bethlehem, county caseworker II, Children and Youth Services, effective Dec. 30; and Chanon Pimprasmorn of Freeland, assistant chief assistant, tax assessment, effective Dec. 30.
