A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed in an incident in Lehigh County. State police at Fogelsville said the incident occurred at 8:40 p.m. on Thursday along Vera Cruz Road in Upper Milford Township.

Troopers said Joshua A. Velazquez, 19, of Emmaus, was operating a 1992 Jeep Cherokee northbound and did not see William J. Adams, 55, of Emmaus, walking along the shoulder southbound. The Jeep struck Adams, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said the area was illuminated by a single streetlight.

Troopers did not indicate if charges would be filed.
