West Penn Township supervisors took the following action recently:
• Adopted a resolution authorizing and directing the township to appropriate $35,000 for the next seven years to Mauch Chunk Trust for the financing of an emergency vehicle.
• Granted a modification to concrete monument for the Bensinger subdivision on Woodland Drive. They would like to use steel pins.
• Adopted a resolution for conditional approval of the Bensinger subdivision contingent on comments being satisfied from ARRO Consulting’s letter dated Nov. 21, Bill Brior, sewage enforcement officer, and Schuylkill County Planning Commission being satisfied.
• Adopted a resolution establishing a new fee for tax certification or tax verification of $15 per parcel.
• Recycling will be closed Dec. 25-27.
• The board will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. Dec. 30 to adopt the 2025 budget.
• The township will hold its reorganization meeting at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 6, 2025, with the regular meeting to follow.
• The township’s board of auditors meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 7.
• The burn ban in the township is no longer in effect as of Dec. 9.
