Bowmanstown Borough Council took the following action last week:
• Approved a 2% raise across the board for borough employees.
• Agreed to spend $3,225 for the purchase of a new E-1 grinder pump from Site Specific.
• Agreed to spend $1,095 on emergency generator transfer switch installations for the borough garage.
• Did not take any action on truck quotes.
• Did not take any action on a recommendation on a zoning ordinance change as presented by the planning commission.
• Appointed Darren Thomas to a five-year term on the Water Authority Board.
• Appointed Kirk Summa & Co. LLC auditing firm for the 2024 audit.
• Announced that Benesch coordinated with Bruce George to finalize the missing documentation from the PennDOT Municipal Services representative to close out the Mill Street project.
• Approved half-days on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
• Agreed to advertise 2025 council meetings at 7 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month, with the exception of November’s meeting being the second Tuesday due to Election Day, and planning commission meetings to be at 7 p.m. the last Tuesday of each month.
