Schuylkill County Court sentencing

The following defendants were recently sentenced in Schuylkill County Court:
Jason Hozella, 45, of Tower City, was sentenced by Judge Christina Hale to 6-12 months in a state correctional facility on a charge of persons not to possess firearms leveled by state police at Schuylkill Haven.
Hozella received the same sentence, to be served concurrently or at the same time, on three more counts of persons not to possess firearms.
He received the same concurrent sentence on 10 counts of firearms not to be carried without a license.
Christopher Schaefer, 51, of Tamaqua, was sentenced by Judge James Goodman to 12 months’ probation on a charge of possession of a controlled substance leveled by agents from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.
Schaefer was also sentenced to another 12 months’ probation on a second charge of possession of a controlled substance.
He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, plus another $520.
Patricia Annette Rehrig, 58. of Coaldale, was ordered by Judge Charles Miller to serve 10 hours of community service, pay the costs of prosecution, plus another $500 on a charge of endangering the welfare of children brought by state police at Schuylkill Haven.
Leroy Manhart, 55, of Ashland, was sentenced by Judge William Burke to a total of 45 months to 10 years on five separate charges of retail theft leveled by Ashland Borough police.
Manhart was also ordered to pay the following restitution to Turkey Hill in four of the cases: $6.77, $4.78, $2,29 and $4.19, and $8 to Dollar General in the fifth case. He was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution in each case.
Kori McCabe, 26, of Pottsville, was sentenced by Judge Christopher Hobbs to 4-35 months in jail on two charges of retail theft made by state police at Schuylkill Haven.
McCabe was also ordered to pay $171.93 in restitution to Boscov’s, the costs of prosecution, plus $1,000.
Jacqueline Slaven, 48, of Orwigsburg, was sentenced by Judge Christopher Hobbs to 30 days to 6 months in jail on a charge of driving while operating privileges are suspended leveled by state police at Schuylkill Haven.
Slaven was also sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months on a charge of driving under the influence.
She was ordered to pay $645.88 in restitution to the district attorney’s office for bench warrant fees, a $1,000 fine, plus $590. She was also ordered to perform 10 hours of community service, have her driver’s license suspended for 12 months and complete an Alcohol Highway Safety Program and Outpatient Substance Use Disorder treatment.
Luke Boyer, 39, of Reading, was sentenced by Judge Christina Hale to 4-8 years in jail on a robbery charge made by state police at Frackville.
Boyer was also sentenced to 3-12 months on a charge or possessing instruments of crime.
He was also ordered to pay $6,000 in restitution, and another $250.
