Redshirt senior Danny Berlitz earned a United States Open Championship title in the men’s 400-yard individual medley at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, last Friday.

The Drums, Pennsylvania, native earned a spot in the A final after placing eighth in the prelims. In the final, Berlitz used a spectacular swim to win the event, touching the wall at 3:46.51.

In the B final of the men’s 100-yard breaststroke, senior Jake Young placed sixth with a final time of 54.48.

Berlitz, a graduate of Marian, also gained a fourth-place finish in the 200 IM, posting a time of 1:45.80.

Berlitz was a four-time Times News swimmer of the year from the 2015-16 season through the 2018-19 campaign.
