Lower Towamensing Township has applied for a pair of grants for the Aquashicola Fire Company.

Supervisors on a 2-0 vote last week adopted resolutions for an electronic sign and equipment.

Supervisor Jay Mullikin was absent.

One grant application is for the purchase of an upgraded digital electronic sign through a Department of Community and Economic Development Local Share Account Statewide grant of $59,214.

The other grant application is for the purchase of upgraded battery-operated rescue tools through a Department of Community and Economic Development Statewide Local Share Account Statewide grant in the amount of $56,244.
