Lehighton Borough Council took the following action last week:
• Accepted the 2025 Mek-Tek HVAC maintenance contract in the amount of $12,000.
• Accepted MVA Tax and Adviser’s proposals for the 2025 general audit and sewage authority audit.
• Accepted the resignation of Virginia Boyles as crossing guard, effective Nov. 30.
• Appointed Donald Rehrig to fill a vacancy on the Water Authority Board.
• Accepted Rebecca Worthy’s letter of interest for the Civil Service Commission.
• Agreed to advertise for Civil Service Commission alternates.
• Tabled discussion on a letter from Mary Strohl, tax collector, for increase of compensation.
• Adopted an ordinance vacating an unnamed alley between Eighth Street and Queen.
• Accepted a resolution for the AMP Scholarship nomination.
