Kowen Gerner scored a team-high 17 points to help Schuylkill Valley pull away from Tamaqua for a 63-40 non-league victory.

The Panthers, who raced to a 17-point halftime lead, also received 11 points from Zachary Reeser.

Noah Mateyak led all scorers, pouring in 18 points for the Blue Raiders in their season opener. Cooper Ansbach also collected 13 points.
