Palmerton Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:

• Approved the updated body worn camera policy for the police department.

• On a 6-1 vote, approved mobile video/audio recorder and automatic license plate reader policy for the police department. Councilman Andrew Hollywood said he was opposed because he is “not in favor of scanning our citizens’ license plates.”

• Naming Kirk, Summa & Company as auditing firm for 2025.

• Appointed three junior firefighters to the Palmerton Fire Department.

• Approved a request for fire police from Lehighton Borough for the Snowflake 5K Dec. 7.
