The Carbon County Commissioners conducted the following business:
• Approved the collective bargaining agreement with the National Correctional Facility Employees Union for Jan. 1, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2025. The terms include 5% raises each year.
The original agreement expired Dec. 31, 2022, and in an effort to reach an agreement, the county agreed to a 3% retro wage for straight time between Sept. 1 and Dec. 31, 2023.
• Approved an agreement with Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company for use of its facility and catering services for the 2024 Carbon County Senior Centers Christmas Party, held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 12. The rental fee is $300 plus $100 cleaning fee; and the cost of meals per person is $17.

• Resignation: Lauren E. Andrews of White Haven, corrections officer, effective Nov. 25.
• Hire: Briana M. Churry of Coaldale, county caseworker I, Children and Youth, effective Nov. 18; and Elena Plotkin of Dingmans Ferry, county caseworker I, Children and Youth, effective Dec. 3.
• Courts change of status: Dianna M. Berry of Hazleton, from secretary II, district court Weatherly, to office supervisor I, district court Weatherly, effective Nov. 11.
• Prothonotary appointment: Alyssa R. Matika of Lehighton, automation/passport processing clerk, effective Nov. 18.
