Lehighton Rotary donates funds to spread literacy to area classrooms. The rotary has donated $200 to the Newspapers in Education Program in partnership with Times News Media Group and the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association. Newspapers in Education brings the local newspaper to area schools to spread literacy. The funds donated are used toward classroom prizes for contests like “Write On,” where teachers can submit entries from their students to enter for a chance to win monthly drawn prize packs including gift cards, tickets for field trips, etc. Pictured with Santa, from left to right, are Dawn Remiszewski, Renee Biechy, Susan Lovejoy and Chris Nelson.
