Free Thanksgiving meals

• St. John’s United Church of Christ, 15 S. Second St., Slatington, is offering a free Thanksgiving Day Dinner from noon to 2 p.m. on Nov. 28. The dinner will be a drive-thru with reservations required for pickup times. There will be no sit-down service.

To reserve your dinner and pickup time, contact Lisa Hofmann at 610-760-9991 or Sharon Kuntz at 610-767-7018. Home delivery may be requested; however, dinners will only be delivered to “shut-ins” in the Northern Lehigh area.

The deadline to place a reservation is Nov. 18. Donations benefit the Northern Lehigh Food Bank.

• Stokes Ministry in Tamaqua is taking registrations for its annual free Thanksgiving Day hot meal platter, serving from 2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 18.

Pickup at 220 Green St., Tamaqua

Delivery: Available to Tamaqua and surrounding areas. One meal is provided per person.

Deadline to register Is Nov. 21.

The meal will consist of: A generous portion of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, homemade dressing/stuffing, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, roll and butter, dessert, and a bottle of water.

This meal is made possible by the fundraising efforts of Stokes Ministry, “G”-Lady’s Community Food Pantry, and community members.

• American Legion Post 927 of Gilbert is hosting a Thanksgiving meal from noon to 3 p.m. on Nov. 28 at the main hall, 646 Fairgrounds Road, Gilbert. All are welcome.
