Woman’s arm cut; Tamaqua man charged

Korey Michael Gruver, 30, of Tamaqua, was charged with assault and harassment by Tamaqua police, stemming from an incident that occurred on May 21.

Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Pine Street for a domestic disturbance where there was allegedly a lot of yelling.

Gruver, who called in the report, said the victim involved in the argument had cut herself, but she said that she had been assaulted. Gruver told police that they were both intoxicated.

A child who witnessed the incident stated that Gruver grabbed the victim’s arm and began to cut it. The victim had several cut marks on her left arm and there were drops of blood throughout the house. The victim refused medical treatment.

Bail was set at $50,000.
