State police at Bethlehem report on crashes

State police at Bethlehem reported on the following crashes:

• Paul G. Mannhaupt, 39, of Saylorsburg, was uninjured in a two-vehicle crash at 5:17 a.m. Oct. 11 on Route 22 in Hanover Township.

Police said he was driving a 2023 Ford Transit that was struck by an unknown vehicle that attempted to merge onto the highway. Police said the striking vehicle fled the scene.

Mannhaupt was able to drive his vehicle from the scene, police said.

• Raymond C. Frey, 57, of Germansville, sustained suspected minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 5:09 a.m. Oct. 15 on the Bake Oven Road in Heidelberg Township.

Police said he was driving a 2007 Jeep Liberty that struck a 2019 Cadillac operated by Kim L. May, 60, of Germansville, after May braked to avoid striking a deer that entered the roadway in front of his car.

Police said Frey was evaluated at the scene by personnel from the Northern Valley Ambulance, but did not require a medical transport.

They said both vehicles were towed from the scene.

• Rajidan Wilson, 22, of Irvington, New Jersey, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a two-vehicle crash at 3:32 a.m. Oct. 13 on West Main Boulevard, East Allen Township.

Police said he was found to be intoxicated/impaired after the incident involving a 2010 Hyundai Genesis and a 2010 Volkswagen.

The other driver was a 29-year-old woman from Lehighton, police said.

• David R. Dopsovic, 55, of Schnecksville, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 2:55 p.m. Oct. 19 on Route 873 in North Whitehall Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township.

Police said he was operating a 2002 Harley-Davidson that struck the rear of a 2009 Acura driven by Javier R. Aguinada Hernandez, 31, of Laurel, Maryland, after Hernandez stopped in his travel lane. Police said the motorcycle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a light post.

They said Dopsovic had a broken left arm and left wrist. He was cited for following too closely.

Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene, police said.

• A 57-year-old Germansville man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a one-vehicle crash at 9:38 a.m. Oct. 19.

The crash occurred on Route 309 in North Whitehall Township when he was operating a 2007 Jeep that crashed and rolled over.

Police said an odor of alcohol was detected on the man, resulting in his arrest.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 6:59 a.m. Oct. 10 on Route 873 in Washington Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Samantha R. Kurtz, 35, of Slatington, driving a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, was exiting her driveway and failed to yield to a northbound 2023 Subaru Crosstrek driven by Ainsley K. Behr, 18, of Schnecksville, causing the collision.

Police said both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

• Joshua E. Weaber, 18, of Slatington, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 7:23 p.m. Oct. 4 on Old Post Road, Washington Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Carbon, Mahoning Township.

They said he was operating a 2007 Subaru Outback westbound and was traveling too fast for conditions when he lost control on a left curve in the road. The car spun out of control and struck a tree. Police said it was towed from the scene.

Weaber was cited after the crash, police said.

• A driver and two juvenile passengers were involved in a two-vehicle crash at 8:27 p.m. Oct. 8 on Main Street in North Whitehall Township.

Police said Chantal M. Starr, 52, and two boys, ages 8 and 9, all of Schnecksville, were transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township.

They said Starr was driving a 2021 Toyota Sienna that struck a 2008 Cadillac operated by Harry Sanchez Reyes, 53, of Schnecksville, after the latter stopped to make a left turn. He was uninjured.

Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Starr was cited for the crash, while Sanchez Reyes was cited for operating a vehicle while his license is suspended or revoked.
