Trinity Happenings

First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton begins at 4 p.m. Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 9:30 a.m. Included during these worship times are remembering and giving thanks with prayer for the members of Trinity who have died in the last year and are now in the Lord’s eternal care. Synodically Approved Lay Minister Kathy Long presides. Coffeehouse fellowship begins at 10:45 a.m. in Luther Hall.

Weekly Sunday Church School for students ages 3 through grade 6, and confirmation preparatory classes for students begin at 10:45 a.m.

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays with an outdoor drive-up setting.

The Trinity Thrift Store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays.

A free movie night is held on Nov. 16 in Luther Hall. Dr. Seuss’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” starring Jim Carrey, will be shown at 7 p.m. All are welcome. Please use the Iron Street entrance.

An Advent wreath workshop will be held in Luther Hall Nov. 24, at 10:45 a.m. For Trinity members, there is no cost to attend. $10 donation for non-members. RSVP no later than Nov. 10.

Christ Evangelical

Christ Evangelical Free Church, 2420 Blakeslee Blvd., Dr., West in Lehighton holds weekly worship service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

ESL classes are held at 6:30 p.m. every Monday through May 19. To register, call the church office.

Ladies’ Bible study is held every Tuesday at 7 p.m. and every Friday at 10 a.m.

Men’s Bible workshop is the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.

AWANA — Kids Bible Clubs is held every Wednesday at 6 p.m. AWANA is open to children ages 3 to 12th grade.

Boundaries Book Study for adults every Wednesday at 6:15 p.m.

A Prayer Shawl Ministry is held the second Saturday of the month from 9 to 11 a.m.

A Food Bank takes place the third Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon.

St. John’s

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Dr. W., Lehighton will hold worship service with Holy Communion at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.

Confirmation class will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 3.

Council meeting is held at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12.

Dinkey Memorial Church has a food cupboard available to those in need of supplemental food resources. It is available to members of Dinkey Memorial and St. John’s, and to residents of East Penn Township. The distribution is the third Thursday of every month from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Dinkey’s Social Room, located below the sanctuary. If you or anyone you know would benefit from receiving food from the Community Cupboard, please speak with Pastor Tony.

A congregational meeting will be held on Nov. 17 following morning worship in Fellowship Hall. The purpose of this meeting is to pass the 2025 budget, elect council members and to vote on the proposed updated constitution.

The church is collecting items for its 2025 rummage sale. Donations can be dropped off in the back half of the Sunday school nursery room. For questions, call Cheryl Kistler at 510-533-5723.
