On Oct. 15 Palmerton’s school board finished their search for a new superintendent. What a farce! It started with spending $5,000 (tax dollars) to get the IU to help. We the taxpayer will have to jump through hoops to get to know their recommendation.
I wonder if the board member, who strongly urged the board to do this, heeded their advice before voting.
Ryan Kish was asked to join the process because he was doing such a good job as interim superintendent.
Students and teachers participated in interviews. One candidate led the process in points that were rated. On Sept. 30 the public along with the board rated the three candidates for one last step in the process. Again, one candidate stood out above all the others with the overall presentation. In the end, the same candidate won with the most points totaled. Guess who the board voted for superintendent? Not the winner! The public once again wasted a lot of time expressing their opinions and participating in this stupid game! Just remember — on Election Day, when board members are running, be careful who you pick. You could end up like Palmerton.
Thank you,
