Pancake Breakfast
The Tamaqua Area Drama Club will host a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m.-noon Nov. 3 at the West Penn Fire Company. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the club.
Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.
Zion Men will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Hall.
A hayride is being planned for Nov. 2.
Calvary Lewistown
Pastor Kim Leskovich will provide the message of faith and endurance at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Church in Lewistown Valley. Special music will be provided.
Group sharing will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, and there will be a prayer and share at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Oct. 17 with 27 members present. The president opened the meeting. The invocation, “Life Simplicities,” was read.
Two members were added to the sick list and one member was welcomed back.
The Christmas party scheduled for Dec. 5 was canceled by a majority vote of members. The party will be rescheduled and held in 2025.
Bingo and cards were played. The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex in Coaldale. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.
Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors
The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens met on Oct. 22 with 36 members present.
The invocation was “Season of Fall.” The secretary and treasurer’s reports were read and accepted by President Robert Neifert. One member was added to the sick list.
Thanksgiving statues and a square Halloween cover were chanced off and won by two members. Refreshments were served.
There will be a Dec. 3 trip to see Sweet Lights in Hershey. Meal will be on members’ own at Red Robin restaurant.
The Christmas party will be held at noon Dec. 19 at Capriotti’s in McAdoo. The meeting closed and bingo was played.
The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 12 at Christ Church in Barnesville. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.
Luncheon
“A Thankful Life” luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 19 at Grace Evangelical Free Church, 101 Graeff St., Cressona. Sue Balsinger of South Park will talk about “Designs for Life.” Georgine Richardson will share some of her paintings and Christine Schaefer of Cressona will provide special music.
There is a fee. Reservations are due by Nov. 14 by calling Gale at 570-527-2224 or Sue at 570-617-9490. The event is sponsored by the Pottsville Christian Women’s Club.
Andreas VFW
The Andreas VFW will have its Veterans Day breakfast at 10 a.m. Nov. 9 at The Mason Jar, Route 895. All paid-up members and one guest are invited.
The next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at the West Penn Annex.
