Senior Center

The Panther Valley Senior Center announced the menu for Oct. 28-Nov. 1.

Monday: Pepper Steak, Rice, Cauliflower and Peas, Fruit Salad or Roast Beef Sandwich.

Tuesday: Lentil Soup, Salmon Croquette, Broccoli and Cauliflower, Peaches or Ham and Cheese Sandwich.

Wednesday: BBQ Chicken, Sweet Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread, Apple Slices or Chicken Caesar Salad.

Thursday: Italian Sausage, Pasta, Broccoli and Cauliflower, Cookie or BBQ Chicken Salad.

Friday: Pork and Sauerkraut, Mashed Potatoes, Carrots, Pudding or Chicken and Cheese Sandwich.

The senior center also announced the following events:

Movie and Popcorn on Oct. 25 at 10 a.m.

Games on Oct. 28 at 10:30 a.m.; Bingo on Oct. 29 at 10:45 a.m.; Cards on Oct. 30 at 10 a.m.; Halloween Party on Oct. 31 at 10:30 a.m.; Wii Bowling on Nov. 1 at 11 a.m.

Cards, pool, games available daily from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. New members are welcome.

Panther Valley Library

The Panther Valley Public Library will hold Fall Story Hour for children ages 3-5 on Oct. 30; Nov. 6 and 20 and Dec. 4 and 18 beginning at 10 a.m. There will be a story, craft and light snack.

To register a child, call the library at 570-645-3780. The event is free.

Medicare help

Appointments are now available at the Panther Valley Public Library, Summit Hill Heritage Center and Panther Valley Senior Center in Nesquehoning for seniors looking help on Medicare and prescription plans.

Appointments are from 9 a.m.-noon at:

• The Summit Hill Heritage Center: Oct. 30; Nov. 6, 13, 20 and 27; and Dec. 4.

• Panther Valley Library: Oct. 25; Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29; and Dec. 6.

Appointments from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at:

• Panther Valley Senior Center: Nov. 19.
