Carbon County Commissioners
The Carbon County Commissioners acted on the following items during their weekly meeting on Thursday.
• County Treasurer Kevin Zelienka spoke about a letter that was received from Mauch Chunk Trust Company. The letter advises the county that its variable interest rate on accounts has decreased to 4.48%/4.57%.
• Approved an amendment with Tu-Way Mobile Communications Inc. of Bethlehem to maintain and operate the Northeast Core Phone System and ESInet services for the region. The maintenance agreement runs from Jan. 1, 2025, through Dec. 31, 2025, and will total $20,534.94. The cost is covered by the Statewide Interconnectivity Grant.
• Approved a $111,760 Vivitrol Grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. The money is the reimbursement of Vivitrol administration and treatment expenses at the correctional facility.
• Approved change orders 15 and 16 to a contract with CMG of Easton for the courthouse renovation project. The change orders add powder coat ramp rail and remove and replace concrete with asphalt. The two items add $12,836.46 to the $1.5 million contract.
• Approved change order 8 to a contract with JBM Mechanical Inc. of Nazareth for the courthouse renovation project. The change order adds electrical unit heating to the third floor area and reconfigure duct as required for ceiling revisions. The change order comes out of credit allowance, decreasing the contract from $2,020,000 to $2,006,733.05.
