Shepherd House, Inc., which has for years served as the lead agency to provide supplemental food assistance to low income individuals and families in Carbon County, oversees nine area food pantries in county communities.

The nine county pantries are as follows:

Beaver Meadows: serves households in the borough and Packer Township and is located in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 19 Second St., Beaver Meadows. Distributions take place on the third Saturday of each month from 1-2 p.m. For information, contact Jennifer Barnasevitch, 570-956-5980.

Lansford: serves households in Lansford and is located in Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 E. Abbott St., Lansford. Distributions take place on the third Monday of each month from 7:30 a.m. to noon. For information, contact Richard Willing, 570-657-6159.

Lehighton: serves households in Lehighton, Parryville and Weissport boroughs and Mahoning, Franklin and East Penn townships in the Lehighton Area School District, and is located in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton.
