Summit Hill Borough Council President William Mansberry assumed the position of mayor of the community following the resignation of Carlo Collevechio.

Mansberry’s new role came to light following last night’s council session, during which time a motion to name councilwoman Kathleen Lanzos to the position failed by a 4-2 vote.

Mansberry and council members John Ferko, Patrick Rutch and Phillip Shelton opposed the motion that was favored by Patrick Cinicola and Patrick Kane.

The council then voted 4-3 to table the appointment, resulting in the president succeeding to the post when the mayor is absent or incapacitated, according to the Borough Code.
