Wilson woman dies in crash, 3rd fatality in two days in Lehigh

A third person has died in a crash in the Lehigh County townships in the Times News coverage area.

Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio reported this morning Raquel M. Perez, 26, of Wilson, was pronounced dead at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday in the emergency department of the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township. Her death was attributed to multiple traumatic injuries due to a motor vehicle collision. The manner of death is accidental, he said.

The coroner’s report said Perez was the operator of a motor vehicle that left the road and struck a tree at 3:38 p.m. Tuesday in the 5000 block of Route 309 in Heidelberg Township.

State police at the Bethlehem barracks are investigating the crash but have not yet released their findings.

Perez’s death follows two crashes that claimed the lives of motorcycle drivers whose cycles struck deer on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

On Tuesday, Frederick R. Brauchle, 64, of Germansville, was pronounced dead at the scene of the first crash, which happened at 5:30 a.m. in the area of 4842 Mountain Road, Washington Township.

Wednesday, Donald E. Guldin, 57, of Macungie, lost his life in the second crash, which happened at 5:20 a.m. in the area of Route 100 and Windy Road in Lowhill Township.
