Nearly 6 million bottles or cans of beer were reported sold to Carbon County distributors in the past year, according to a report of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
It reported 5,944,752 cans and bottles were tallied as having been sold, including 4,897,224 of the favorite, pint-sized beers. In addition, 669,480 half-pints were sold, as were 396,048 quarts, the 32-ounce jugs often being the carry-home choice of consumers.
The LCB also reported this wasn’t all the beer that floated through the county in the past 12 months, as 4,605 quarter barrels and 22,706 “halves” were also sold.
In the state, distributors handled nearly 2 billion cans and/or bottles of beer in the past year, capping an all-time high.
