Palmerton Borough Council took the following action last week:

• Hired John Wilk and Larry Wallace as seasonal employees for leaf collection at the rate of $15 an hour.

• Approved the financial security escrow release for the Ramsey subdivision.

• Approved the police pension fund 2025 minimum municipal obligation in the amount of $280,326.

• Approved the nonuniformed pension fund 2025 minimum municipal obligation in the amount of $153,390.

• Approved handicapped parking approval for 411 Fourth St., and 336 Lehigh Ave.

• Approved a fire coverage request from Penn Forest Township.

• Approved the request for the Palmerton Halloween Parade to be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 20. The rain date is Oct. 21.

• Announced that trick-or-treat will be held from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 26.
