A Schuylkill County man has been charged with criminal homicide after a shooting in Sheppton, East Union Township, Schuylkill County.
State police at Frackville were called at 8 p.m. Saturday to assist township police with a death investigation at 31 Franklin St. Police said a 42-year-old man was killed in the morning.
The Troop L Major Case Team was activated and conducted an investigation.
John Francis Gustites, 67, was taken into custody and arraigned by on-call district justice David Plachko. He was charged with third-degree criminal homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and simple assault.
Assisting at the scene were East Township Union Police, Mahanoy City Police, Frackville borough police and the Shenandoah police department.
