The Monroe County commissioners approved increasing drug and alcohol services at the Monroe County Correctional Facility.
Last week, they approved a contract with the Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug & Alcohol Commission to provide professional services for drug and alcohol, case management and assessment services at the correctional facility.
Commissioner John Christy, chairman of the commissioners, said, “This is to provide true alcohol and drug services at the correctional facility. What we are doing is utilizing the license of Pike County to bring these people in, so I’d like to commend Jamie Drake and her people for moving forward with that.”
Drake is the executive director of Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug & Alcohol.
The contract period runs from Sept. 1 to Dec. 13, with a cost of $6,786.50, which will be paid from the Opioid Settlement Funds.
The commissioners also approved a memorandum of understanding and agreement with Justin’s House LLC to provide 77% of the funding request for the purchase of a vehicle for the transportation of opioid clients in the amount of $60,151.58.
It also will be paid from the Opioid Settlement Fund.
