State police at Fogelsville - crashes
State police at the Fogelsville barracks reported the following crashes:
• Michael J. Thomas, 52, of Jim Thorpe, was cited a two-vehicle crash at 3:01 p.m. Sept. 10 at the intersection of Spring Creek and Trexlertown roads in Lower Macungie Township.
Police said he was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado east on Spring Creek Road when he turned left onto Trexlertown and the pickup was struck by a 2020 Mazda operated by Brittany L. Roth, 43, of Mertztown. Police said both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
Roth had minor injuries but did not require a medical transport from the scene, police said.
• No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 5:26 a.m. Sept. 2 on Route 309 in Lynn Township.
Police said Madelyn R. Choma, 18, of Fogelsville, was driving a southbound 2018 Hyundai Tucson when she began to fall asleep. The vehicle drifted off the left side of the road. When she overcompensated, the SUV left the road and hit an embankment.
The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
• A 35-year-old Jim Thorpe man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a three-vehicle non-reportable crash in the area of Spring Creek Road and Farmington Drive in Lower Macungie Township.
Police said he was the operator and sole occupant of a vehicle involved in the incident. They said he was at a level of impairment that refrained him from being able to safely operate the vehicle.
• Cynthia A. Zelenty, 63, of Walnutport, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 10:26 a.m. Aug. 26 on Route 22 in South Whitehall Township. No one was injured.
Police said she was driving a 2017 Toyota Camry that passed a 2023 Ford Escape driven by John G. Lawson III, 29, of Allentown, while both vehicles were westbound. The Camry sideswiped the Escape, police said.
Police said Zelenty left the scene and later told police she was unaware of the incident.
• Joseph Z. Collins, 21, of Effort, was cited after a crash at 11:44 p.m. Aug. 9 on Tollgate Road, Upper Milford Township.
Police said he was driving a 2023 Toyota Tundra that was backing out of a driveway when it was hit by a 2003 Ford Ranger operated by John V. Zukas Jr., 54, of Zionsville.
Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene. No one was hurt.
