The Nesquehoning Historical Society will resume its 2024 season of presentations at the museum next week.
The museum will hold two team presentations on coal mining featuring musician Dave Matsinko and historian Vince Hydro. The performances will take place at 6 p.m. Monday and 1 p.m. on Sept. 28. Doors for the events open at 5 p.m. and 11 a.m. respectively.
Matsinko’s performance will include selections on various acoustic instruments of music reflecting the heritage of our local area.
Hydro will display images of the history of coal mining including first discoveries, types of coal mines, and the miners and their families.
The events will take place at the NHS Museum, 157 W. Railroad St., Nesquehoning.
There is parking available in the large lot located next to the museums.
This event is open to the public free of charge, although donations to the Historical Society are always welcome.
