Banks Township Supervisor Chairman William Nice Jr. said the township is rescheduling a meeting with state Sen. David Argall regarding obtaining a grant to address a sewer problem on Maple Street.
A scheduled meeting with Argall had to be postponed.
At last month’s supervisors meeting, residents of Maple Street reported that during recent heavy rains, they had raw sewage in their basements.
Supervisor Rick Porpiglia said that stormwater is mixing with sanitary sewers, which get overwhelmed during heavy rains.
The solution, the supervisors say, is to line the sewer pipes to eliminate the rainwater infiltration on Maple Street, which is a low point in Tresckow.
In other business at Monday’s meeting, solicitor John Solt said that he will draft a new ordinance dealing with false emergency alarms.
The supervisors will consider the ordinance for advertisement at next month’s meeting, which will be held Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. at the new township building at 1 E. Maple St.
