The last three Salisbury boys soccer games have ended in shutouts. Unfortunately for the Falcons, two of the three went against Salisbury in losses to Lehighton and Palisades.

The end result is that Salisbury’s record has fallen to 2-5-0 overall and 0-3-0 in the Colonial League.

In the shutout win, Salisbury downed Tamaqua (0-3-0 Schuylkill, 0-6-1 overall) as goalie Julian Makhoul recorded his first varsity shutout in a 4-0 win. Makhoul, who only started playing soccer a few days before the season getting underway, has grown in goal and recorded 86 saves on the season.

In a 2-0 loss to Lehighton (2-2-0 Colonial, 2-2-0 overall), Makhoul made seven saves, but the Falcons offense was unable to get anything past goalie Bryce Miller, who made eight saves to record the shutout and give Lehighton their first win in boys’ soccer as a member of the Colonial League. Both Lehighton and Jim Thorpe entered the league this season.

Salisbury suffered a 3-0 loss to Palisades (1-3-0, 2-5-0) Monday night.

Josh Hudak has led the Salisbury offense with six goals and two assists and Christian Marinos has contributed with four goals on the season. Salisbury has been outscored 25-10 this season and has been shutout four times.

At times, the offense has shown signs of life, scoring five goals in a win over Notre Dame of East Stroudsburg and four in the win against Tamaqua.

The upcoming schedule has Salisbury at Jim Thorpe (1-2-0, 3-3-0), Wilson (2-1-0, 3-3-0), and Notre Dame - Green Pond (2-2-0, 2-3-0) over the next week. The Falcons’ next home game is not until the 21st when they host Bangor (3-1-0, 4-2-0).
