Franklin Township Police
The Franklin Township Police Department reported the following incidents:
• On June 20, a township hotel reported receiving what they believed to be a fraudulent check from an individual who had previously received services at the establishment, failed to pay and had been charged criminally. As a result of the secondary investigation, Kimberly Sue Andrews of Slatington was charged with forgery and bad checks. Andrews was arrested on the felony warrant and was awaiting a preliminary hearing.
• In July, an electrical substation in Franklin Township was repeatedly entered and copper grounding wire was removed. Jason Ehrig Haldaman of Northampton was arrested on charges of criminal trespass, risking catastrophe, theft of second metals, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief, instruments of crime and possession of drug paraphernalia. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled.
• On July 16, a theft was reported at the St. Luke’s Carbon Campus. Patricia Palka of Jim Thorpe was arrested for theft of movable property. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled.
• On July 26, a township resident reported being threatened by a previous employee. An arrest warrant was issued for Joshua David Bierman of Nazareth for terroristic threats and harassment. Anyone with knowledge of Bierman’s location is asked to contact Franklin Township police.
• On July 26, a township resident reported being a victim of a sexual crime. As a result of an investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for Devin James Dragovits (no known address). Anyone with knowledge of Dragovits’ location is asked to contact Franklin Township police.
• On July 31, an individual reported the theft of an electric bicycle that was parked at a township business. A suspect has been identified and charges for theft of movable property and receiving stolen property are pending.
• On Aug. 12, individuals reported two dogs being left in a vehicle with closed windows in direct sunlight. The animals were removed from the vehicle by police. Jonathan Robert Corday has been charged with cruelty to animals, disorderly conduct and neglect of animals for each dog. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled.
• On Aug. 15, a 70-year-old man called 911, reporting that he was lost in a wooded area in the township. The Franklin Township Fire Company worked jointly with the Aquashicola Fire Company and the man was found uninjured.
• On Aug. 20, St. Luke’s Carbon Campus reported an intoxicated person in front of the property. Tiara Carr of East Stroudsburg was cited for public drunkenness and similar misconduct.
• On Aug. 23, criminal mischief was reported at Phifer’s Dam Park. A 13-year-old juvenile was cited for criminal mischief and also performed repairs to what he damaged.
