The Panther Valley Senior Center announced the menu for Sept. 9-13.

Monday: Sausage and Peppers, Rice, Broccoli, Orange or Beef Club Sandwich.

Tuesday: Chicken Tenders, Potato Wedges, Green Beans, Fruit Salad or Ham and Cheese Sandwich.

Wednesday: Beef Stew, Mashed Potatoes, Carrots, Biscuit, Pudding or Chicken Caesar Salad.

Thursday: Minestrone Soup, Fish Sandwich, Red Potatoes, Cantaloupe or Chicken and Cheese Sandwich.

Friday: Roast Pork, Halushki, Peas, Cookie or Salad with Chicken.

The senior center also announced the following events:

Sunshine Meeting on Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. followed by Trivia at 11 a.m.

Scattergories on Sept. 9 at 11 a.m.; Birthday Bingo on Sept. 10 at 10:45 a.m.; Po-Keeno on Sept. 11 at 11 a.m.; Game Day on Sept. 12 at 11 a.m.; Skeeball on Sept. 13 at 11 a.m.

Cards, pool, hames, available daily from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. New members are welcome.

Nesquehoning

bake sale fundraiser

Nesquehoning’s fundraising group will hold a bake sale from 9 a.m.-noon, Sept. 13, in front of the borough office building, 114 W. Catawissa St. Proceeds from the sale benefit the borough Hometown Heroes banner program and will be used to purchase American flags to accompany the banners.

Donations are being accepted. Checks should be made payable to the Nesquehoning Historical Society, with a note in the memo “Flag Fund” and mailed to 157 W. Railroad St., Nesquehoning PA, 18240.

Donations of baked goods for the sale are also being accepted.

A second bake sale will be held Oct. 11 to help raise funds for community events in the borough.
