4th annual Weisstock opens tonight with Karaoke, rides
The fourth annual Weisstock will get underway from 5-10 tonight and continue from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday in Weissport Park.
Nicole Baker, event coordinator, said the festival is being held as a fundraiser for St. Peter’s Community Resource Center and the Weissport Event Committee.
“We started the festival with the intent to fundraise for these organizations because they do a lot for the community, and folks don’t realize the expenses involved,” Baker said. “St. Peter’s alone, we had to replace the roof and that was a massive undertaking; because of this festival, we’ve been able to do even more improvements to the building.”
Event sponsors include AOK Heating, Air Conditioning & Electrical, 4D Karaoke, and G Contracting, all of whom Baker praised for their support.
“This event would not be possible without community support and our sponsors,” she said. “And we especially want to thank AOK Heating, Air Conditioning & Electrical; they were our very first sponsor and they’ve been with us each year throughout the entire process.”
