Banks man jailed for explicit photos

Maurice D. Foster Jr., 34, of Tresckow, was jailed on charges that he sent a sexually explicit photograph to a minor in June.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, troopers spoke to the female juvenile on June 28 after receiving a report regarding the explicit sexual material. Police said the girl had been a victim of a sexual assault and is not allowed to use a cellphone or computer for “fear of rumination.”

Police said that between June 24 and 28, Foster had been asking the victim if she knew what pedophiles were. On June 25, police said Foster asked the girl to get him a towel while he was in the shower. When she went to the clothes dryer to retrieve a towel, she saw Foster’s cellphone was open and unlocked. Police said an open note on the phone said, “I saw your chest yesterday while you were in the shower.” It asked that she not tell anyone and if she brought him a towel, he would permit her to use his old cellphone to talk to her Snapchat friends.

Police said the girl threw the towel in the bathroom and left.

On June 28, Foster gave the girl his old cellphone but she was afraid to use it for fear of being punished. Police said the girl used the phone, which was already logged onto her Snapchat account.

According to police, the girl noticed a new message from a person she had not added as a friend. She opened the message, which she told police showed a “boy’s private area.”

The girl was distraught and returned the phone to Foster. Foster kept asking the girl if she knew who sent the explicit photo. As she was walking away, she heard him say, “It was me.”

Police obtained a search warrant to search the girl’s and Foster’s Snapchat accounts, and found that Foster had sent the messages. Police said the explicit photo was taken while Foster was in the shower.

He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Joseph Homanko, Weatherly, and sent to prison on $100,000 cash bail.

Charges include disseminating explicit sexual material to a minor, unlawful contact with a minor/open lewdness, and unlawful contact with a minor/obscene materials, all felony charges, along with misdemeanor charges of disseminating explicit material by electronic communication, open lewdness, harassment and corruption of minors.
