Fire companies from throughout Schuylkill County responded to a two-alarm fire Wednesday morning in Orwigsburg.

The alarm came in at 7:30 a.m. when passing motorists spotted smoke coming from the structure, a strip mall of various businesses.

When the first firefighters arrived on scene they found smoke coming from the structure reporting a working commercial structure fire ordering a second alarm.

The fire was centered at the eastern end of the structure including the Brickhouse, Tony’s Meats, China Ming and a physical therapy center.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Fire police maintained traffic control, shutting down Market Street, Route 443, detouring traffic around the scene.
