State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 69-year-old Slatington man’s check for $15,600 was intercepted between noon July 15 and noon July 25 and then cashed, police said.

Police were called to Main Street in Washington Township to investigate the theft by deception incident.• Police are investigating a theft of services incident they were called to at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 7 at a property on Route 873 in North Whitehall Township.

A 36-year-old man from Schnecksville reported that someone used a dumpster without permission.

Police said the suspect was identified after a piece of mail was found in the garbage that was placed in the dumpster.

• A burglary that occurred between 10 a.m. Aug. 10 and 10:45 a.m. Aug. 11 at a property on Apple Valley Estates Drive, North Whitehall Township is under investigation.

Police said a 62-year-old man from Orefield reported someone broke a rear glass door and entered his residence. The burglar then removed various items from the downstairs master bedroom and closet before fleeing.

The items included the residential deed, a timeshare agreement, appliance warranties, a will and power of attorney, passwords for credit accounts, a fireproof lock box worth $60 and costume jewelry.
