Several people were injured one seriously in a crash Sunday night along Route 209 in Walker Township. The accident occurred around 8 p.m. involving two vehicles, both coming to rest in a wooded area along the west bound berm.

The victims were treated by members of the Tamaqua ambulance and Lehighton paramedics. One victim was flown from the scene by LifeFlight 6.

State police from Frackville are investigating the incident.

Tamaqua fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway and detouring traffic around the scene.
