State police at Bethlehem

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following incidents:

• Joanne Shoemaker, 60, of Slatington, was cited for retail theft at Weis Market, 5020 Route 873, North Whitehall Township, at 10:43 a.m. Aug. 10.

Police said she committed the offense 12 times. They said she fake scanned or did not scan items at the self-checkout station. The loss value was listed at $210.50, police said.

• Janoiry Petez-Tejada, 23, of Allentown, was charged with harassment by physical contact after police were called to a domestic disturbance at 3:13 a.m. Aug. 5 at the intersection of Hunters Hill and Northwest roads in Heidelberg Township.

Police said an 18-year-old woman from Germansville and Perez-Tejada were engaged in a verbal altercation while occupying a 2014 BMW. Police said after the vehicle came to a stop, Perez-Tejada attempted to remove the woman from the car, causing her to have red marks on her arms.

• A 48-year-old man from Schnecksville fell prey to a theft by deception/impersonation incident that police were called to at 6:04 p.m. Aug. 12 on Main Street in North Whitehall Township.

The man told police he gave $3,000 in gift cards to a caller who claimed he would have a warrant against him. Police said the scammer “spoofed” the phone number to appear that the call was coming from a Lehigh County Sheriff’s Office number.

• Police charged Luis Espinosa, 30, of Allentown, with theft for an incident at 12:11 p.m. April 24 on Airport Road in Hanover Township.

They said the theft occurred at the Wing Stop, whose district manager reported to police that Espinosa, an ex-employee, stole a purse from a 35-year-old woman from Albrightsville who was a customer at the business.
