The beach/swimming area at Mauch Chunk Lake Park will be closed due to test results that did not meet acceptable levels of bacteria in a test Monday.

The park will be sampling and re-testing the swimming area in the next coming days and will re-open when acceptable samples have been met.

All other areas of the park remain open including the picnic area.
