Tamaqua police cited Elvis Soloranzo, 64, Tamaqua, with public drunkenness following a 1:21 p.m. Aug. 10 incident outside the Boyer’s Food Store in Tamaqua.
According to police, officers were sent to the Cedar Street store for a report of a man drinking on the sidewalk. When they arrived, they saw an intoxicated Soloranzo sitting on the sidewalk.
Police said he had a cold can of Natty Daddy inside a plastic bag and an empty can next to him. Soloranzo was slurring his speech and smelled of alcohol.
Police placed him under arrest and took him to his home. Officers said they walked him into his residence because he was unable to do so on his own. He was told to stay home and not go outside until he sobered up. Police said Soloranzo thanked them.
