Weissport Borough Council announced or acted on the following items during its recent meeting:

• Hope Community Fellowship Church, Bridge Street in Weissport, will hold another Movie in the Weissport Park on Aug. 23 beginning at 8 p.m. The church will be showing “The Lion King.” The public is welcome; bring lawn chairs and/or blankets. Refreshments will be available.

• Garbage collection fees for July were $3,260.40, bringing the year-to-date to $67,326.52.

• Taxes collected for July were $5,931.65, bringing the year-to-date to $59,038.92.

• Voted to purchase ink for their printers, not to exceed $250.

• Weissport Secretary Aimee Shank reported that the 2023 audit has been sent to the auditors; Kirk, Summa & Co. LLP.

• The first September meeting of the Weissport Borough Council will move to Sept. 3 at 7 p.m., due to the Labor Day holiday.
