PSP Bethlehem crashes

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 10:41 a.m. Aug. 6 on Route 873 in Washington Township.

Police said Yvette L. Weller, 55, of Walnutport, was driving a 2013 Ford C-Max that struck the rear of a 2008 Acura driven by Raysa E. Gonzalez, 50, also of Walnutport, after the latter had slowed down in an attempt to make a left turn.

Police said the C-Max was towed from the scene, while the Acura was able to be driven from it.

They said Weller was cited for following too closely.

• Damages were minor in a crash at 3:18 p.m. Aug. 5 on Lil Wolf Drive in North Whitehall Township.

Police said a 2006 Honda Odyssey backed out of a driveway and struck the rear of a 2015 Dodge Ram truck. No one was hurt.

• Abraham C. Martinez Jr., 44, of Whitehall, and Elizabeth Ortiz, 52, of Raeford, North Carolina, both refused medical treatment at the scene of a crash at 3:09 p.m. Aug. 3 on Mauch Chunk Road, North Whitehall Township, police said.

The crash occurred when a 2007 Honda Accord operated by Martinez, traveling south, struck the rear of a 2024 Nissan Senta driven by Ortiz after the latter had stopped in the southbound lane, police said. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Police said Martinez was cited for following too closely.

• Police responded to a crash at 10:06 a.m. Aug. 2 at the intersection of Routes 100 and 309 in Heidelberg Township.

They said a 59-year-old woman from Breinigsville told them she took oxycodone before driving her 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe.

She was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, police said.

• David H. Locher, 55, of Slatington, sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle mishap at 8:44 a.m. July 28 on North Loop Road, Washington Township.

Police said he was driving a 2008 Jeep Compass westbound when he fell asleep and the vehicle traveled off the roadway and hit a tree. Police said he exited the vehicle and left the scene.

Locher was cited after the crash, police said.

• The driver of a 2009 Honda Pilot that struck the rear of a car at 2:26 p.m. July 28 on Mauch Chunk Road, North Whitehall Township, was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Police said the vehicle, whose driver was not identified, was northbound when it struck a 2019 Nissan Sentra that braked for traffic. The driver of the Sentra was also not identified.

They said neither driver was injured and both were able to drive their vehicles from the scene.
