PSP Frackville incidents
State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:
• Police are investigating a burglary that was reported at 6:48 p.m. Aug. 11 at a property on Rogosky Street, Rush Township.
A 38-year-old woman told police someone entered her mobile home between Aug. 6 and 11, and then fled the scene.
• A 43-year-old New Philadelphia woman was the target of a criminal mischief incident that police were summoned to at 11:58 a.m. Aug. 10.
She reported that someone cut the wire connected to an outdoor video surveillance camera at her residence on Lombard Street.
• Police said a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a bear on Interstate 81 in Frailey Township at 3:41 a.m. Aug. 7.
The driver, Jonathan Vivaldo, 34, of Middletown, New York, and a passenger, were uninjured.
Police said Vivaldo was southbound on the interstate when the bear entered his lane of travel and was struck. The Jeep sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
• A 49-year-old woman from New Ringgold is facing retail theft charges after police were called to a business on Summer Valley Road in East Brunswick Township at 5:51 p.m. Aug. 4.
They said it is alleged the woman took an electrolyte powder container valued at $4.50 and a bird feeder valued at $3 from the store.
Police said that after conducting a criminal history of the suspect, it was determined that she has three prior convictions for retail theft.
The woman was not at the scene when police arrived and the investigation remains open pen ding obtaining video surveillance of the incident.
• Police were called to an endangering the welfare of a child incident at 7 p.m. July 29 at a property on Second Street in East Union Township.
They said the complainant alleged that her daughter was touched in a sexual manner by an adult male.
Police said the PA ChildLine was contacted about the allegation.
• Brock Roberts, 18, of Tamaqua, is facing drug possession charges after a traffic stop at 12:47 p.m. July 24, police said.
He was stopped in a Ford Focus at the intersection of Route 209 and Piersol Street in Walker Township, after which police said they found him to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and related paraphernalia.
• Police reported Leah Purcell, 19, and Jason Bold, 20, both of Coaldale, were cited for retail theft after police were called to the Walmart store on Plaza Drive, Rush Township (Hometown).
The incident happened at 1:04 p.m. July 19.
