West Penn Township residents are enjoying a new accessible walking path at Morgan Park.
“I’d just like to thank the board on behalf of myself and my wife for the walking path at the Morgan Park,” Brian McClellen told township supervisors. “It’s beautiful. It’s very nice.”
McClellen said he appreciates that the walking path is suitable for seniors.
The recently graded and paved path is also accessible for those who use wheelchairs.
It measures about a half-mile, and circles the park’s baseball and softball fields.
It connects to handicapped parking spaces, and veers to both picnic pavilions.
Supervisor Glenn Hummel saw the finished product and thanked Roadmaster Jeremy Frable and the township road crew.
“I’d like to compliment Jeremy and his guys again, especially for the work on the walking track,” Hummel said. “They have it all graded down now and it looks really, really nice.”
“It’s really coming together,” board Chairman Anthony “Tony” Prudenti said.
The park along Cold Spring Road also has a playground and restrooms.
