Vavra walks two and strikes out two in gaining the win. Lansford’s offense gives Vavra support with a three-run third inning. Dave Zonca doubles home Joe Yanacek and Jack Marek, while Zonca scores on Tony Mongi’s fly ball to left. Vavra gives himself some insurance in the fourth when he doubles and eventually comes in on a wild pitch. Zonca finishes with a pair of hits, while Dave Hoffman accounts for Coaldale’s run with a homer.
