The Lehighton American Legion and Auxiliary Post 314 presented a “School Awards Assembly” at Lehighton Middle School on June 11.

Larue Fritz, president of the auxiliary, Lehighton presented the 8th Grade School Award to Anna Haupt. Kevin Long, commander of Post 314 presented their 8th Grade School Award to Asher Birchak. Also attending was Shirley Rodgers and Wendy Bell, Unit #314 Auxiliary.

The awards are given in “recognition of the possession of those high qualities of honor, courage, scholarship, leadership, service and Americanism which are necessary to the preservation and protection of the fundamental institutions of our government and the advancement of society.”
