Day 13
Started the day bright and early, getting on the metro before 9 a.m. to head to cover women’s 3-meter diving semis. Even though UNC alumna Aranza Vazquez didn’t qualify for the final, it was still cool to see these top divers from all over the world.
Afterward, I grabbed some lunch and then stopped at a metro stop to get key chains to bring home, before I headed back to the hotel.
After I met up with my roommate and a few other UNC students, we made our way to dinner right near the Eiffel Tower! It was so nice to eat with friends, since I haven’t been around them much throughout my time over here.
Next, we made our way to the beach volleyball arena, and unbiasedly, I think at night it is the prettiest venue I’ve ever seen.
After a thrilling semifinal right as the last point was scored, the Eiffel Tower started sparkling, as it does on the hour after dark. I had been looking forward to seeing it for days and was elated when I finally had the chance to see it up close and personal!
Tomorrow will be my last day in Paris before my travel day on Saturday, but I’m excited to see what tomorrow has in store!
