Close to 100 riders turned out for the American Hose Company’s 23rd annual Motorcycle Run and Food Truck Fest on Sunday.
“The chance of rain and hot weather tampered with our numbers,” said Kyle Oliphant, a member of the Tamaqua fire company and chairman of the run committee. “But with that chance of weather, the turnout we had was great.”
The fire company fundraiser took 94 riders on a 104-mile route with stops in Rockport, Lehighton, Saylorsburg and Bowmanstown.
“There was a little bit of rain in Saylorsburg, but everybody toughed it out,” Oliphant said.
The event also featured food trucks from Gimbel Farms, The Dinner, Steal Your Plate, La Dolce Casa and Butcher Bob’s, a performance from the band Bad Maggie and a live broadcast from Magic 105.5.
“The food trucks, band and the concessions were open to the public, and I think the public did a good job turning out and supporting the fire company,” Oliphant said.
He said the fire company plans to hold another bike run and food truck festival in 2025. The event is typically held on the first full weekend in August.
