You’ll know when DJ Chicken Nugget is on the fairgrounds by the lines of people boot scooting to songs.

He kicks off the fair with tunes from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5.

A fair favorite for more than five years, he’s been a deejay since 2008.

“It’s all about playing the right dances and songs,” he said. “Gotta keep them dancing!”

“Fireball” is a crowd favorite now, he said.

He’s a second generation deejay. In case you’re wondering, he said, “My dad started line dance DJing in the early ’90s. His name was DJ Chickenman. When he had me take over, he named me DJ Chicken Nugget!”
